Buffalo Bills and ADPRO Sports announce Week 5 Coaches of the Week

Geoff Mandile and Marcus Rivers have been named as the Bills ADPRO Coaches of the Week for the Rochester and Buffalo regions respectively.

Each coach was selected for their commitment to their teams and school communities. They will both receive $1,000 for their football programs. The Buffalo and Rochester Coaches of the Year will be named during the Bills' Week 17 home game against the New England Patriots.

Rochester Region Coach of the Week #5

Victor Central's Geoff Mandile is the Rochester region Coach of the Week after he led his team to a 21-20 win over Irondequoit. Both teams were undefeated headed into the game, and four quarters were not enough to decide the contest. Victor Central won in overtime thanks to a 10-yard pass from Eric Torres to Nick Leonard for a touchdown.

Adam Ruffalo had nine carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns and 13 tackles and an interception on defense. Jameson Ricigliano had 15 carries for 79 yards and nine tackles. Victor Central improves to 5-0 on the season.

Mandile's coaching philosophy is centered around creating an environment for all players to be successful.

"I want their involvement in our program to help them be successful in all areas of life," he wrote.

Mandile works as a senior high guidance counselor at Victor Central and has been coaching football for 25 years. He helped develop the Teddi Bowl in partnership with Camp Good Days and Special Times. The funds raised directly support children and their families impacted by cancer and sickle cell anemia.

Mandile's favorite football memory is in 2016 when he took his team to the state title game.

Buffalo Region Coach of the Week #5

Lackawanna High School's Marcus Rivers is the Coach of the Week for the Buffalo region. In his first year as a head coach, he has led the Steelers to a 5-0 record.

Most recently, Lackawanna defeated Depew 46-18 and overcame five fumbles after a slow start.

Rivers played college football at the University of Buffalo and spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, the Green Bay Packers and in the Canadian Football League.

"My coaching philosophy is live in the moment, cherish the little things, sell your product," Rivers said on what he instills in his athletes.

Rivers emphasizes bonding experiences with his players. He took a trip to the Zoar Valley with some of his team and organizes activities like bowling from time to time.

Rivers' favorite football memory was watching his players walk into the locker room and see their new alternate uniforms, saying their reaction was 'priceless.'
