Greer, McCargo, Royal, Schobel out for Sunday

The Bills will be without a host of veteran players Sunday when they host the San Francisco 49ers. Declared out for the game by head coach Dick Jauron Friday were Jabari Greer, Teddy Lehman, John McCargo, Robert Royal and Aaron Schobel.

McCargo was the newest addition to the injury list as

"With John it's been kind of gradually bothering him more and the more we talked about it with him we just thought it was aggravating him enough that we needed to get him out," said head coach Dick Jauron.

The defensive tackle has been inactive three of the last four games.

For Greer it will be the second straight week in which he'll be out. Rookie Leodis McKelvin is expected to start in his place.

Aaron Schobel will miss his seventh straight game with his lengthy foot injury. Buffalobills.com asked Dick Jauron if he anticipates Schobel returning to the playing field before the end of the regular season.

"I'm hoping," Jauron told Buffalobills.com. "I'm hopeful."

Royal's hamstring injury will force the veteran tight end to miss his first game this season.

Whitner Doubtful, Ellison questionable
Donte Whitner practiced all week on a limited basis, but is doubtful for Sunday's game. It wouldn't be surprising if the staff chose to wait another week and rest Whitner for the second run of games against the AFC East rivals to close out the season.

Linebacker Keith Ellison is questionable for Sunday with a lingering ankle injury, but practiced Thursday and Friday on a limited basis. If he cannot play it's expected that safety Bryan Scott would step in with Lehman out.

Also questionable is tight end Derek Schouman with a hamstring injury suffered during the week and Copeland Bryan who suffered a foot injury in last week's game.
