Stroud-Taylor trash talkSeptember 10, 2008

Posted By: Chris Brown | Time: 5:08 PM ET
STROUD-TAYLOR TRASH TALK: Though Fred Taylor hasn't returned any of Marcus Stroud's phone calls this week, he has sent messages through the media. He first said that Stroud must be "licking his chops" knowing that the Jags will have backups at both guards and the center spot.

Then he said that he's going to shake Stroud up in the backfield. Stroud on a conference call with the Jacksonville media had this for an answer.

"That's quite possible to happen; Fred (Taylor) has shaken up quite a few people in the backfield. But I guarantee that if he shakes me up I'm going to have a couple of guys rallying with me. He's going to have to have a lot of moves, tell him to have all of them ready."

The biggest reason Stroud has a chip on his shoulder is because Jack Del Rio said that after Stroud's ankle surgery he didn't believe he'd ever be the same player again. When asked if he feels he has to prove to Del Rio that he can still play he had this response.

"I'm really satisfied with how I'm playing.  It's not about showing Jack that I can play.  I'm no longer a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. It's more about satisfying myself and showing everybody I can play."

Kind of makes you look forward to Sunday huh?

Stroud gets sacks in stat change

STROUD GETS SACKS IN STAT CHANGE: At the end of the Bills opener, I along with a lot of other people thought Marcus Stroud had a pair of sacks in the win over Seattle, but looking at the stat sheet he was credited with just a half sack.

In fact in the locker room Donte Whitner asked Stroud what happened.

"Marcus I thought you had a couple of sacks?" said Whitner to Stroud from across the locker room.

Stroud responded.

"I know I thought I had two. I don't know what's up."

Stroud wasn't ticked about it, just perplexed.

Well upon further review the league has changed the stats. Stroud was credited with two full sacks. Kyle Williams who was credited with a sack and a half now has no sacks from the opener.

John Henderson calling for a butt whippingSeptember 10, 2008

Posted By: Chris Brown | Time: 10:46 AM ET

JAGS HENDERSON PREDICTING A BUTT WHIPPING: Jacksonville DT John Henderson was asked what can be expected for Marcus Stroud's homecoming this weekend. Here was his answer.

"It's going to be a homecoming, with a butt whipping," said Henderson. "Did I say that right? A homecoming, with a butt whipping. Yeah, yeah, I like that [laughing]."

Even though Henderson and Stroud are good friends I'll be sure to pass it along to Marcus to see if he has a response. Something tells me this might be all that Stroud needed to hear. Thanks John.
