The Bills acquired WR Kaelin Clay in a trade with the Carolina Panthers heading into Week 1 of the regular season. Now in Week 2, Clay will get a chance to face his former team as the Bills face the Panthers.

Clay along with rookie LB Tanner Vallejo will make their Bills debuts today against Carolina. Vallejo made a successful return this week from a knee scope performed near the close of the preseason.

Clay's role could be larger than expected since primary return man Brandon Tate is inactive for today's game.

Tate averaged 8.8 yards on four punt returns last week and had a 23-yard kick return.

Clay is listed as the backup returner to Tate on both kickoffs and punt returns, although other return candidates today could be Taiwan Jones, Micah Hyde or Tre'Davious White.

The Bills inactives are listed in full below.

WR Brandon Tate
RB Joe Banyard
LB Jelani Jenkins
G Vladimir Ducasse
OT Conor McDermott
TE Khari Lee
DT Jerel Worthy
