Kelvin Benjamin inactive; Humber, Poyer return to lineup

The much-anticipated debut of Kelvin Benjamin will have to wait another 10 days. The wide receiver acquired in a deadline day trade with the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday is inactive for tonight's primetime game against the New York Jets.

The combination of getting only two days to try to cram a game plan along with the prospect of never getting the benefit of a bye week were likely factors in the decision made by the coaching staff to keep Benjamin out of the lineup.

Benjamin missed Buffalo's bye week in Week 6, and now will miss Carolina's bye week in Week 11. So this week will essentially serve as the receiver's down time for the 2017 campaign.

Humber and Poyer activeBills LB Ramon Humber and S Jordan Poyer will both return to the lineup on defense tonight.

Humber has missed each of the last three games due to a thumb injury sustained in Week 4 at Atlanta that required surgery. The veteran linebacker was the team's leading tackler until the injury forced him from the lineup.

Poyer returns after missing just one game with a knee injury suffered in the Week 7 win over Tampa Bay.

Matt Milano and Trae Elston will return to reserve roles at linebacker and safety respectively.

Here's the list of Buffalo's inactives for tonight's game.
