Lynch ruled out against Jacksonville

Bills head coach Dick Jauron didn't leave any suspense for Sunday when it came to Marshawn Lynch's status for Buffalo's game with Jacksonville.

"Marshawn did not practice and is out for this week's game," said Jauron after Friday's practice.

Anthony Thomas will again start in Lynch's place with rookie Dwayne Wright and Fred Jackson being mixed in through the course of the game.

Lynch was out on the field with his teammates at the close of practice Friday. Wearing a sweat suit and high top sneakers, the rookie running back still had a slight limp, but was not favoring the high ankle sprain sustained on Nov. 11 nearly as much as he was the week before.

"He is walking well," said Jauron. "He's coming along faster than we anticipated. He's kind of week-to-week now."

Jauron has called Lynch "different" in terms of his ability to heal, so there appears to be a fair chance that he could play next week at Washington.

"He really has come a long way in two weeks," said Jauron.
