Mary Owen promoted to Executive Vice President, Strategic Planning

Orchard Park, NY-The Buffalo Bills announced that Mary Owen has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Strategic Planning.

Bills owner Ralph Wilson, Jr. said, "Mary is one of this league's bright young business executives and she has demonstrated that she is ready for the responsibility that goes with this promotion. She is a great asset to me and the Bills and we are fortunate to have her in our organization."

"My vision for Mary since she first joined our organization in 1997 was for her to earn her way into a senior management position and this promotion is an evolution of her hard work, knowledge gained and continued experience," Wilson added. "She plays an integral role in our organization and her promotion is based on her performance."

Owen said, "Working for Ralph Wilson, Russ Brandon and the Buffalo Bills organization continues to be a rewarding experience. I am also looking forward to the challenges that my new position presents. We have the most passionate fans in the National Football League and my focus is to continue to strengthen this franchise for Buffalo and the Western New York Region."

Owen will continue to focus on the organization's business operations and work to ensure that the franchise remains strong in Western New York. This includes the regionalization efforts that are currently centered on the Bills Toronto Series. She has played an integral role in the BTS since its inception and serves as the Bills' Managing Director for the Series.

Owen will work with Bills senior management on long term planning and franchise strategy while continuing to work closely with ownership as an advisor on league level issues. She currently serves on numerous NFL committees, including the Advisory Committee on NFL Giving, the NFL's International Committee and the NFL's Super Bowl Committee. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Trustees for NFL Charities.

Owen had been the organization's Vice President of Strategic Planning since 2006 while also managing Mr. Wilson's philanthropic efforts. Organizations such as Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Hospice Buffalo, Kaleida Health Foundation, Canisius College, St. John Fisher College, University at Buffalo, Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic, the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, the Jefferson Scholars Foundation at the University of Virginia, as well as various charitable organizations funded through the Ralph Wilson Medical Research Foundation and the Ralph C. Wilson Foundation have all benefited from those efforts.
