**McDermott hopeful Glenn ready for Week 1

**Bills left tackle Cordy Glenn is not practicing again at camp today (Sunday) due to his ailing foot. The day to day problem has stretched into the better part of two weeks and head coach Sean McDermott admits he's concerned. When asked if Glenn will be ready to go Week 1 of the regular season, McDermott couldn't guarantee it.

"We're hopeful," he said. "We're hopeful."

While the Bills have some depth at the tackle position, one of their top four offensive tackles won't be available for the first five games of the season. Seantrel Henderson has five games left to serve on a 10-game league-imposed suspension.

McDermott revealed what the likely contingency plan would be if Glenn isn't ready for the start of the season.

"Dion (Dawkins) would potentially move over if we got that far," said McDermott. "At this point in time we're not going to do that. We're going to get him comfortable at the right tackle position. But we do have to have a contingency plan in place and we feel the reps Dion built up on the left side over the spring should serve him well if needed."

Working to get Gaines & Matthews playing time vs. EaglesThere are just three practices between now and Buffalo's next preseason game at Philadelphia on Thursday night. That's not a lot of time for the Bills new arrivals, WR Jordan Matthews and CB E.J. Gaines to get acclimated to their new team and new schemes. But head coach Sean McDermott hopes they can get them some playing time against the Eagles.

"It absolutely is to get them some game action this week," said McDermott of their plan as a staff. "So we'd like to take a good look at them in Philadelphia. We're excited about what we're going to see at practice with them getting acclimated to what we do. Their new teammates really embracing them and see how they're going to add to what we already have with the core of our football team."

The challenge for Matthews and Gaines is the new language they have to learn in the offensive and defensive systems they'll be lining up in now with Buffalo.

"Both of these players have been around different systems. Jordan has been around a couple of different systems with a couple of different quarterbacks, maybe four or five different quarterbacks. He's done a nice job over his career of adapting. But just that part of it on the front end is probably the biggest hurdle."

Matthews comes from an offensive system in Philadelphia that does have a lot of carry over in comparison to Rick Dennison's scheme in Buffalo, so he's likely to have a shorter learning curve than Gaines.

Anderson no longer on PUPS Colt Anderson is participating in practice for the first time in training camp. A foot injury landed him on Active PUP at the outset of camp, but he passed a physical over the weekend and is cleared to practice.

His addition brings the team roster total at safety back up to eight.
