McKelvin cleared to practice; Dareus, 'Unga put on Active/Non-Football injury list

Saturday brought encouraging news for starting CB Leodis McKelvin, but it looks as though DL Marcell Dareus and OL J.J. 'Unga will be spectators at the team's first training camp practice.

McKelvin, who earlier this week was placed on Active/PUP coming off of offseason hip surgery was cleared for practice and taken off that list. The veteran corner is expected to participate Sunday night with his teammates, but his workload will likely be limited based on GM Doug Whaley's comments Friday.

"We just want to make sure we ease him in and don't give him too strenuous a workout right off the bat," said Whaley.

Dareus and 'Unga meanwhile have been put on Active/Non-Football Injury List making it highly unlikely that they set foot on the practice field Sunday night. No details were provided as to why they were both designated for that list.

The team did conduct their player conditioning tests on the field here at St. John Fisher Saturday morning.
