This will be a tough turnaround for the Bills after they put a lot into beating the Steelers in prime time Sunday night. That will make it a challenge early, but I think they will get the offense going and the defense will limit Drew Lock. The Bills keep it rolling.Â
Pick:Â Bills 27, Broncos 19
MDS's take: The first Saturday game of the season should have the Bills continue their march to the playoffs with a win over a Broncos team that has already been eliminated from playoff contention.
MDS's pick: Bills 27, Broncos 17.
Florio's take: Buffalo continues to prove that it's ready to do more than just make it to the playoffs.
Florio's pick: Bills 30, Broncos 17.
Bills fans have been waiting for this moment for 25 years: a chance to win the AFC East, in the team's third straight nationally televised game, with a top-10 quarterback and a peaking defense. They are Super Bowl contenders -- and Super Bowl contenders don't lose games like this, even against a Broncos team coming off its best two-game stretch of the season.
Buffalo Bills 27, Denver Broncos 21
It's hard to know how the Broncos (5-8) will play from week to week, but a road game in Denver is tough for any opponent, even one as good as the Bills (10-3). Add that the Bills can relax a little considering their 98 percent chance of winning the A.F.C. East (but just a 1 percent chance at a first-round bye), and this game could be closer than oddsmakers are predicting.Â
Pick:Â Broncos
The Bills are red-hot after taking down the 49ers on the road and Steelers at home with Josh Allen locked into Stefon Diggs and his other receivers. At the same time, the Bills are running ball effectively enough in good situations. Allen will have time to pick apart Vic Fangio's defense with some balance to take pressure off him. Drew Lock is coming off his best game as a Bronco, but there won't be as many receivers running free here and game script will force them out of the running game at home.
Pick:Â Bills win 27-20
