Owens, Schobel questionable for Sunday

Terrell Owens only practiced on a limited basis Friday after a strained hip kept him off the practice field on Wednesday and Thursday and he's listed as questionable for Sunday. But the veteran wideout expects to be in the lineup this weekend at Tennessee.

"I felt good," said Owens after Friday's practice. "With a lot of prayer and rest and treatment I knew I would be ready. I've been in this situation. I know my body better than anybody else or any doctor for that matter. Early in the week it was painful. I'm not sure what triggered it. But I did everything (Friday), ran routes full speed, no pain, no nothing so I'm good."

Head coach Dick Jauron stated that Owens participated on a limited basis in practice, but he did get reps with the first team offense.

"He felt a lot better today," said Jauron following Friday's practice. "He felt better (Thursday), but he felt a lot better today. I don't know that anybody knows how it will respond because he worked pretty hard on it. So we'll just have to see. Hopefully it will just get better."

Owens fell asleep on his couch Monday night and was stiff Tuesday when he woke up, but initially didn't think anything of it.

"I woke and felt stiff because I had been on the couch, but thought it really had no effect," said Owens.

"Going into Tuesday when I had the (community) appearance, I just felt stiff and that's when I called because I know my body and I felt like it needed to be attended to."

Owens went in for treatment with the trainers, but the strained hip kept him off the practice field Wednesday and Thursday.

"It was just one of those things," he said. "I don't know what happened, but I felt fine (Friday). (Thursday) it would have been iffy. I'm very faithful and with prayer you can't be denied so I'm very thankful."

When asked if he'll play Sunday, Owens answered in the affirmative.

"I'll be ready," he said.

Owens has not missed a game due to injury since Week 16 of the 2004 season when a fractured tibia and fibula forced him to miss the last two games of the season.

Schobel questionable
Defensive end Aaron Schobel is also listed as questionable after practicing on a limited basis Friday. Schobel is dealing with a groin injury suffered in the Week 8 game against Houston. He too was unable to practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

"He practiced pretty hard so it was just good to have him back on the field," said Jauron. "If he couldn't work (Friday) it wasn't going to work out. We'll see how he tolerates it, but I feel good about those guys."

Safety Donte Whitner, who has missed the last two games with an ankle injury practiced on a limited basis all week and is listed as questionable too.

Reserve offensive tackle Jamon Meredith is questionable as well after being limited in practice all week.

Parrish added to injury report
Added to the injury report Friday was Roscoe Parrish, who suffered a knee injury in practice.

"Roscoe twisted his knee," said Jauron. "He did not finish practice, so he was limited."

Parrish is listed as questionable. He has been inactive for each of the last three games.
