Paul Posluszny - Practice

LB Paul Posluszny

Practice – September 2, 2007

On getting ready for the regular season…

I'm definitely excited for it and a little nervous. Today in practice you could tell there was a different sense. Everyone has a different sense of urgency. I'll probably be a little nervous. I'm definitely excited about it and it's a lot better now that it's the real thing and now that it counts.

On his recognition of plays…

There are hits and misses. A lot of times I can see things clearly. I still get confused sometime with play-action. Denver is a big boot (leg) team. So that's something we're really going to have to work on. There's always room for improvement in that area.

On if he is playing with a chip on his shoulder as a second round pick…

The draft is a funny thing. It's over with. It happened the way it did for a reason. I'm fortunate to say 'You know what? I had the opportunity to play in the NFL.' You can't complain regardless of where you got drafted. I'm happy with the situation that I have here. I think it's a great fit. It's going to work out really well. I'm really happy. First, second round it doesn't matter. I have an opportunity to play and start in the NFL. You can't ask for anything more.

On the responsibilities that come with the MLB position…

In our defense, the middle linebacker is responsible for a lot and that's fine. That's the way it's got to be. That's the way it was last year and they're going to keep things the same. I have to be able to handle all that and make sure I have a good understanding of our defense and what's going on with what we're facing.
