Sammy Watkins a candidate for NFL Rookie of the Week

Bills WR Sammy Watkins, Chicago Bears CB Kyle Fuller, Cleveland Browns RB Terrance West, Arizona Cardinals K Chandler Catanzaro and Washington Redskins RB Silas Redd are the candidates for NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 2, as announced on NFL.com on Tuesday morning.

Fans can vote for one of these five players at on.nfl.com/1DeuQIR through Friday at 3 p.m. ET to determine the PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK. The PEPSI NFL ROOKIE OF THE WEEKwill be announced Friday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com

Sammy Watkins led all rookie WRs in Week 2 with 117 receiving yards on eight receptions and added his first career touchdown. The eight catches are tied for the fourth most by a Bills rookie, while 117 yards rank sixth among rooke wideouts in team history, and most since Chris Burkett in 1985.

He is the first Bills rookie WR to post a 100-yard receiving game since Lee Evans in 2004. Five of his eight receptions accounted for first downs.

Watkins has totaled 11 catches in the first two games of his career, tied for most ever by Bills rookie, matching mark set by Josh Reed (11 in 2002). The only other Buffalo rookie with 10 or more receptions in his first two games is Jerry Butler (10 in 1979).
