He's been one of the most impressive players in Bills camp, but in Buffalo's Saturday preseason contest at Pittsburgh against the Steelers top draft choice Sammy Watkins left the game in the first quarter with a rib injury.

Watkins was injured on a 3rd-and-3 play on Buffalo's opening possession. The receiver was targeted by EJ Manuel on a quick slant. The pass was low and incomplete. The cornerback in coverage Cortez Allen fell to the ground on the play trying to make an attempt at the pass. Converging on the play was Steelers LB Ryan Shazier, who jumped to avoid the fallen Allen. As he lifted his legs to avoid his teammate, his right knee collided with Watkins' rib cage.

The receiver immediately grabbed his side and bent over after the blow. He made his way to the sideline and was immediately tended to by team physicians. Soon after they took Watkins to the locker room for a full evaluation.
