For the second week in a row and the third time this season, WR Sammy Watkins has been named NFL Rookie of the Week, the League announced on Friday.

Watkins led Buffalo with 157 yards, a high among all AFC receivers, and a touchdown on just three catches in a blowout 43-23 win over the Jets at MetLife Stadium in Week 8.

The first-year Clemson product and reigning Week 7 NFL Rookie of the Week established a team record with 52.3 yards per reception, and became the first wideout in team history to post back-to-back 100 yard outings (122 yards vs. Vikings 10/19/14).

The Weekly award caps a standout four-week stretch for Watkins, who also earned NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month honors on Thursday. He led all rookies with 366 receiving yards, 19 receptions and a 19.26 yards per reception average in the month of October, becoming the first Offensive Rookie of the Month in team history.
