Second Down: Week 15

Name that player
Keith Ellison had his first career rushing attempt on the successful 4th-and-5 fake punt that resulted in a first down. Who was the last Bills defensive player with a rushing attempt?

Marshawn Lynch 2K
With a game-high 127 yards rushing Sunday, Lynch went over the 1,000-yard mark for the season becoming just the third Bills players to top the 1,000-yard plateau in his first two seasons joining Joe Cribbs and Willis McGahee. Lynch also went over 2,000 yards for his career in Sunday's game.

Johnson hits pay dirt
Bills rookie receiver Steve Johnson posted his first career touchdown catch Sunday on a two-yard reception from J.P. Losman. The scoring play gave the Bills a 17-14 lead in the second quarter. He was the 10th different Bills receiver to catch a touchdown this season, giving the team its most since 10 in 1991.

Poz picks
Paul Posluszny recorded his first career interception as he alertly pulled in a deflected ball in the second quarter. The takeaway led to a Bills touchdown to help cut the Jets early lead to four points (14-10). He's the second Bills linebacker with an INT joining Kawika Mitchell.

Double rushers
J.P. Losman's rushing touchdown Sunday in the second quarter was his second rushing TD of the season, with the first coming on a quarterback draw against Arizona back in Week 5. It marked the fourth time in team history that the Bills have had two or more rushing touchdowns from more than one quarterback in a season. Trent Edwards had a pair of rushing touchdowns against Kansas City and has three total on the season. It's the first time that has happened since 1964.

Reed enters top 10Josh Reed is alone in 10th place on the team's all-time receptions list after pulling in four passes for 43 yards on Sunday. His career total is now at 273 putting him just five receptions behind Jerry Butler for ninth. Reed needs just five catches to post his third career 50-catch season.

McGee's INT
Terrence McGee's 36-yard interception return in the third quarter was the second longest of the season (McKelvin 64-yards @ KC). It was also his third this year, which gives him the team lead in that category. McGee has now had at least three interceptions in four of the last five seasons.

Moorman's pinningBrian Moorman had only three punts, but two were as perfect as they could be. The Bills punter dropped a pair of punts inside the Jets 10-yard line, which John Wendling corralled and downed at the two and three-yard lines respectively. It led to one of Moorman's best net punting days of the season despite the fact that his third punt was a touchback. Moorman had a net punting average of almost 49 (48.7) an insane number especially late in the season.
