Spencer Brown named Bills' nominee for NFL Salute to Service Award 2026

VB

For Buffalo Bills right tackle Spencer Brown, supporting the military community is personal.

Brown was named the Bills' nominee for the NFL's Salute to Service Award, an honor that recognizes members of the NFL community who demonstrate an ongoing commitment to honoring, empowering and connecting with service members, veterans and their families.

Military service has long been a part of Brown's life. His older brother, Garrett, served in the United States Marine Corps after high school and spent time stationed across the country, including four years in Hawaii. Growing up with that example helped shape Brown's appreciation for those who serve and inspired his commitment to giving back.

Since arriving in Buffalo in 2021, Brown has consistently supported military-related initiatives throughout Western New York. In 2024, he participated in Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight, which provides veterans with the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C., and visit the memorials and monuments dedicated to their service.

Brown has also used the NFL's My Cause My Cleats platform to highlight Mission 22, an organization dedicated to supporting active-duty service members, veterans and military families while working to combat veteran suicide. He selected Mission 22 for the initiative in both 2022 and 2025.

In addition, Brown took part in the Bills' Salute to Service activities in 2025, including a Veterans Day visit to the Buffalo VA Hospital. During the event, he spent time meeting with veterans and staff members while distributing Salute to Service gear.

Whether through league initiatives, community appearances or personal interactions with veterans, Brown has remained committed to honoring those who have served. His nomination reflects years of involvement and a continued effort to support the military community that has had such a meaningful impact on his family.
