Statement From An NFL Spokesperson

The National Football League is distributing the following statement through the Bills Media Relations Department to all Western New York media.

STATEMENT BY AN NFL SPOKESPERSON:

Anthony Hargrove of the Buffalo Bills has been suspended without pay for the team's first four regular-season games of 2007 for violating the NFL Substance Abuse Policy.

Hargrove's suspension begins on Saturday, September 1. He is eligible to return to the Bills' active roster on Monday, October 1 following the team's September 30 game against the New York Jets.

Hargrove is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games.

In compliance with the NFL's confidentiality clause in the Substance Abuse Policy, the Bills are prohibited from discussing any details of the suspension.
