Steve Wyche: Bills Could Challenge for Division

Going in to this Bills season, expectations seem to be higher than ever around Western New York. Apparently the same can be said around the league, and NFL Network's Steve Wyche is leading his own charge. When appearing on The John Murphy Show, Wyche (the host of NFL AM) admitted that he's a huge fan of Chan Gailey's and if Ryan Fitzpatrick can cut down on the gun-slinging then Buffalo has a very good chance to push New England for the divisional crown. He also believes that since we have a front four wih six starters the Bills defense will be a force to be reckoned with.
Former linebacker for Buffalo and current play-by-play man for the Bills Television Network Ray Bently spent some time on the radio broadcast to breakdown the team and the upcoming pre-season game. Bently had some strong words of encouragement for current LB Kelvin Sheppard, saying he plays the game the right way, has great hands and a nose for the ball. He did express some concerns about Fitzpatrick and his accuracy, but believes his work with quarterbacks coach David Lee will help with that. Bently also said he believes the no-huddle offense will be more effective when they get in more of a rhythm and pick up the pace.
Spencer Johnson considers himself a Bill now even though the large majority of his career was with the Vikings. He reflected on his journey as an undrafted free agent out of L.S.U. and moving his way up the Minnesota depth chart. That backround helped form a solid bond between Johnson and former Buffalo defensive tackle Pat Williams. Spencer is excited to get the season going, and while he was happy to be moved around last year in the 3-4 defense, he's much happier and more comfortable in the 4-3.
