Wood could miss Miami game

As if a 44-7 road loss wasn't bad enough by itself, Buffalo's offensive line sustained another injury Sunday. In the second half center Eric Wood sustained a right knee injury and was helped off the field. Head coach Chan Gailey is not sure he'll make it back in time for Buffalo's Week 11 game at Miami.

"It's a knee injury. To what extent they did not tell me," Gailey said. "I would doubt that he is ready for this week. It might happen, but I would doubt that he's ready for this week."

Wood did not want to address reporters after the game because even he did not yet know the nature or extent of his injury, though putting weight on his injured knee was a struggle.

The Bills center was injured following an interception on a Ryan Fitzpatrick pass that was intended for Donald Jones. The ball went off of Jones' hands to Terence Newman, who took the ball the other way to the Buffalo 22-yard line.

After the interception Wood headed up the field in an effort to make a tackle, but was broad sided by a Cowboys defender blocking for Newman. Wood's right leg appeared to stick in the turf twisting his knee awkwardly.

The lineman went down to the turf holding his right knee and was eventually helped to the sideline by teammates.

"He means a lot to us," said Ryan Fitzpatrick. "We'll see. I have no idea how he's doing or what it is. Eric Wood obviously means a lot to our guys up front."

When Wood exited the lineup, right guard Kraig Urbik filled the void at center. Andy Levitre is the team's backup center, but he was too busy still manning left tackle in the absence of Demetrius Bell, who has been out of the lineup since Week 5 with a shoulder injury.

If Wood cannot play next Sunday at Miami the likelihood is that Levitre will start at center and rookie Chris Hairston will play left tackle.

Johnson, Wilson, White also nickedStevie Johnson was also injured late in the game. On a 2nd-and-2 play on Buffalo's last possession of the game Johnson sustained a shoulder injury when pass interference was called on Newman.

"He got banged on the shoulder at the end when they called the interference," said Gailey. "They landed and drove it into the ground. It just went tingly on him. I think he'll be okay."

George Wilson left the game in the first half with a stinger and did not return. Gailey said Wilson experienced some numbness, but anticipates he'll be ready for next Sunday's game.

Rookie LB Chris White however, had to be carted off the field after suffering a knee injury while covering a punt in the third quarter.

"Chris looks the worst of the bunch," said Gailey.
