It's the start of the preseason slate as the Bills host the Colts at 4 pm on Saturday, Aug. 13. Here's a rundown of players to keep an eye on in Buffalo's first preseason contest.

1 – CB Christian Benford - #47

Buffalo's sixth-round pick has made a move up the depth chart over the course of training camp thanks to his ability to make plays on an almost daily basis. Can the Villanova product continue that practice momentum in his first preseason game?

2 – LB Terrel Bernard - #43

The rookie linebacker has proven himself an instinctive player. Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier confirmed he is learning both of Buffalo's linebacker positions in their nickel defense. The question is whether he can challenge to be the first player in off the bench should there be an injury to Tremaine Edmunds or Matt Milano.

3 – WR Jamison Crowder - #80

The veteran receiver got off to a slow start at training camp but has come on in recent days. He's been a proven performer in his career and is still acclimating himself to Buffalo's scheme, but there's no denying his route savvy and ability to gain separation.

4 – DE A.J. Epenesa - #57

It's a big year for the Bills' third-year pass rusher. He figures to get a good deal of playing time against the Colts. What has he added to his pass rushing repertoire and how often can he win to get heat on the opposing quarterback?

5 – OL David Quessenbury - #77

The guard-tackle vet has proven to be a valuable piece in the early going of training camp when projected starters like Spencer Brown, Ryan Bates, and Rodger Saffold were sidelined. With a good preseason Quessenbury has a very good chance to lock down the swing tackle role.
