It's been said time and again that it's a quarterback-driven league. When taking a closer look at the Bills schedule of opponents for the 2017 season, one of the first realizations is the caliber of quarterbacks Buffalo's defense will be facing this fall.

Sure everyone is accustomed to facing Tom Brady twice a year with division rival New England, but in 2017 the Bills face five of the top 10 rated passers from 2016 and seven of the top nine in touchdown passes.

That includes 2016 NFL MVP Matt Ryan, the highest-rated passer in the league (117.1).

While Buffalo's game against the Falcons will be on the road, the Bills will host the league leader in passing yards from 2016, Drew Brees. The Saints signal caller threw for more than 5,200 yards last season (5,208) and 37 touchdowns.

The other two quarterbacks on the Bills schedule with top 10 passer ratings also come to Buffalo in Oakland's Derek Carr, who had a better than 4:1 touchdown to interception ratio last season. Andrew Luck will lead the Colts into Buffalo this coming fall as well after throwing for more than 4,200 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2016.

Former Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston has a date at New Era Field too with his Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bills road schedule also presents matchups against quality signal callers like Philip Rivers as the Chargers play their first season in Los Angeles, and 2015 NFL MVP Cam Newton as head coach Sean McDermott will lead the Bills into Carolina to face his former team.

The dates in which Buffalo will face each of these opponents will be released in mid to late April.
