Bills preseason opponents announced

The exact dates have not been set, but what is known is the Bills will be facing two of the top three NFL draft choices in their first two preseason games this August. The NFL released the 2012 preseason schedule for all 32 clubs, and Buffalo will be facing Washington and Minnesota in their first two preseason contests.

The Bills play host to the Redskins and possibly Robert Griffin III in the preseason opener (Aug. 9-13th). Washington holds the second pick in this year's draft where it's been widely speculated that the Redskins will draft the Heisman trophy winning quarterback from Baylor.

Buffalo opened their preseason schedule with the Redskins just two years ago when the two clubs squared off in 2010. The Week One matchup will mark the 14th preseason meeting between Buffalo and Washington.

In the second week of the preseason (Aug. 16-20th) the Bills will travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings. Buffalo played at the Metrodome during the 2010 regular season, but have not faced the Vikings in the preseason since 2002. Their last preseason trip to Minneapolis came in 1996.

The Bills and Steelers will meet in Week Three of the 2012 preseason at Ralph Wilson Stadium (Aug. 23-26th). Buffalo and Pittsburgh have met in eight previous preseason contests, most recently in 2009.

Buffalo will close out its 2012 preseason on the road with a familiar opponent in the Detroit Lions. The Week Four game (Aug. 29-30th) will mark the 32nd preseason meeting between the two teams and the 11th consecutive preseason the Bills and Lions will have played.

Specific dates and times will be announced at a later date for the complete preseason schedule.

Season tickets for 2012 are on sale now online through Buffalobills.com, by phone at 1-877-BB-TICKS (228-4257), or in person by visiting the Bills ticket office at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
