Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Bills to dominant victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night.
This is Allen's first Offensive Player of the Week Award since Week 4 against the Dolphins in the 2023 season. Allen now has 13 Player of the Week awards during his tenure as the Bills quarterback.
Allen completed 23 of his 30 pass attempts, throwing for 263 yards, and four touchdowns. He also led the rushing attack added 44 yards on the ground in the 47-10 victory. His 4 passing touchdowns and 142.1 passer rating was the most among all AFC passers.
He also became the first NFL player with 200 or more passing yards and 4 or more passing touchdowns in a first half since Josh himself did so against the Steelers in October 2022. The last player not named Josh Allen to do so was Dak Prescott at Philadelphia in January 2022.
Allen picked apart the Jaguars defense, finding 10 different receivers en route to the victory. His four passing touchdowns in the first half tied his career-high, set in 2022 vs. Pittsburgh (10/9)
"It feels good, Allen said. "I think this could have easily been a game where we had 10 days off and let up on the gas, didn't sense that from our guys, a lot of urgency throughout the week… I thought Joe called a great, great game today. We went out there and executed."
Allen came out the gate firing on the first drive of the game, completing five of his first six passes before handing the ball to RB James Cook for the touchdown early.
The offense only punted once on the night, scoring on eight of their nine drives, excluding the kneel down at the end of the game.
"When everything is clicking, they decide to play man-to-man, gonna turn into a field day for him," rookie WR Keon Coleman said. "Get to throw it to the open guy and have nothing else to worry about."
Allen found four different receivers for touchdowns on Monday, including Coleman for his first career NFL touchdown on a 24-yard catch. Allen also found TE Dalton Kincaid, WR Khalil Shakir and RB Ty Johnson for touchdowns in the first half.
"He's a beast," Shakir said. "I've said a thousand times, I'll keep saying it — he's a freak of nature. Even when he's throwing the ball, he's putting the ball to where only we can make the play on it. So, freak of nature, dog — all those things."
