The Bills began the work of filling out their eight-man practice squad with five additions on Sunday.

Buffalo brought back late cuts LB Jamie Blatnick, DL Izaan Cross, and QB Thad Lewis, who each spent time on the roster under the new coaching staff, along with OL Mark Asper, Buffalo’s sixth-round draft pick in 2012, and WR Tommy Streeter.

Lewis, acquired via trade with the Detroit Lions on August 25th, spent the 2011-12 seasons on the Practice Squad and 53-man roster of the Cleveland Browns. Lewis started the Browns' 2012 regular season finale against Pittsburgh and completed 22-of-32 passes for 204 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The Duke product completed 7-of-16 passes for 132 yards, including a 79-yard TD, in the Bills preseason finale. He will wear No. 9.

Blatnick spent portions of 2012 on the Broncos practice squad and impressed throughout OTAs and training camp as an edge pass rusher in Mike Pettine's versatile scheme. The 6-3, 253-pound Oklahoma State product appeared in 51 games and totaled 118 tackles, 24 stops for a loss and 16.0 sacks for the Cowboys. He will wear No. 58.

Undrafted free agent Izaan Cross worked his way into the rotation at both end and tackle. The 6-4, 300-pound Georgia Tech product was a three-year starter at defensive end and played in 52 games (41 starts) for the Yellow Jackets. He will wear No. 76.

Asper was among the Bills final cuts as a rookie in 2012, and has since spent time with the Vikings and Jaguars. He will wear No. 62.

Streeter entered the NFL as a sixth-round (198th overall) draft selection of the Baltimore Ravens in 2012 and spent the season on Injured Reserve. The 6-5, 215-pound Miami product finished his collegiate career with 52 catches for 967 yards and nine touchdowns in 30 games (nine starts). He led the Hurricanes with a career-high 46 receptions and 811 yards in 2011. He will wear No. 17.
