No. 12 – QB Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma
The Bills' trade of starting left tackle Cordy Glenn to the Bengals is a thinly veiled plan to be in better position to take advantage of the talent in this year's quarterback class with another trade into the top five possible, if not likely. After working with Tyrod Taylor and Cam Newton, defensive-minded head coach Sean McDermott might be more comfortable than most with a dual-threat quarterback like Mayfield operating the offense.
No. 22 – G Isaiah Wynn, Georgia
The Bills gained draft capital by trading away Cordy Glenn but do not currently appear to have the players on the roster to handle losing its best blocker. Like Glenn, Wynn stood out at left tackle at Georgia but has the build some feel is better suited for guard.

No. 2 (via trade with NY Giants) – QB Josh Allen, Wyoming
A trade! I know, I am flouting Kiper's rules. Here's what I'm projecting:
Bills get: Pick No. 2 *Giants get: Pick Nos. 12, 22 and 53*
I'm hearing a lot of buzz that a deal could happen between Buffalo and the Giants at No. 2. The strong-armed Allen fits the AFC East, and the Bills can be patient with him as AJ McCarron can start in 2018. Allen has the highest upside of the quarterbacks in this class, but he also might need the most polish.
No. 56 – WR James Washington, Oklahoma State
Washington provides a good playmaker on the outside for Buffalo's new QB Josh Allen.

No. 12 – LB Tremaine Edmunds, Virginia Tech
Edmunds might be the best athlete in this draft -- and he could play inside or outside linebacker in Buffalo.
No. 22 – QB Lamar Jackson, Louisville
With two picks on Day 1, Buffalo could trade up again. In this scenario, Sean McDermott & Co. get their quarterback of the future.
No. 53 – WR Courtland Sutton, SMU
I love this pick for the Bills, who need better weapons for whomever plays quarterback in 2018 (I gave them Lamar Jackson in Round 1). Zay Jones, taken in Round 2 last year, struggled as a rookie.
No. 56 – CB Carl Davis, Auburn
This is the Bills' fourth pick so far, and they have more holes to fill than the average playoff team. The 6-1 Davis is a big corner who could battle for the spot opposite Tre'Davious White.
No. 6 (via trade with Indianapolis): QB Josh Allen, Wyoming
With the Giants and Broncos both passing on quarterbacks, the Bills pounce on the opportunity to move up and grab one—and find a willing trade partner in the Colts, who decide to move back again after watching Chubb, Barkley, and Nelson go off the board. The Bills surrender the 12th and 22nd picks to move up to no. 6 and select the strong-armed Allen (that's an overpay, per Jimmy Johnson's draft trade value chart, but it's the type of "attractive offer" GM Chris Ballard said he'd need in order to trade back again after moving out the third spot last month). The Wyoming star will need to improve his accuracy at the next level, but he's got prototypical size and athleticism, and with a cannon for an arm and big hands to grip the football, he'll be well equipped for the blustery, cold weather in Buffalo.
No. 5 (via trade with Denver) – QB Josh Allen, Wyoming
The Bills move up the board again and they find their QB. Allen is built to throw in the bad weather he'll encounter in Buffalo.
No. 12 – CB Denzel Ward, Ohio State
The Bills obviously have a major need at quarterback, and they will likely look to move up in the draft in reality, but they're going to take their chances by grabbing Ward here and banking on one of the next three signal-callers is available at No. 22 overall. Ward has the speed to match up on the outside and the quickness to play in the slot, and he may be the best cornerback in the draft for matching up with good route-running receivers. He allowed a completion percentage of only 35.1 last season.
No. 22 – QB Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State
The Bills are happy to take a chance on Rudolph at this point in the first round. He is a solid intermediate and downfield passer, especially the vertical route tree outside the numbers, though he must improve his accuracy in the short game. Rudolph is a difficult evaluation as he was strong in key areas, including posting the top third-down grade in the draft class, but he also ranked 34th in PFF grade in the red zone.
No. 2 (via trade with NY Giants) – QB Josh Allen, Wyoming
The Bills have two picks in the first round, maybe enough ammunition to sneak ahead of the Jets to grab the draft's strongest arm.
No. 4 (via trade with Cleveland) – QB Josh Rosen, UCLA
This is a projected trade, as the Bills send the No. 12, No. 22 and a second-round selection to the Browns to move up to No. 4.
No. 6 (via trade with Indianapolis) – QB, Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma
What would it take for the Bills to move into this spot? I think picks 12 and 22 for the sixth overall choice would be a fair swap. Buffalo gets a QB, Indianapolis gets yet another pick in the first two rounds, and both teams can build, build, build.

The Bills are trying to move up even more to draft a quarterback; four could be off the board by the time they select at 12, the pick they received from the Bengals in the trade for offensive tackle Cordy Glenn. So with no trades in my mock draft, I'm going with a need here, as Buffalo lost leading tackler Preston Brown in free agency and doesn't have much depth at the position. I see Edmunds' best fit as an inside linebacker in a 3-4, but there are teams that like him as an outside linebacker and edge rusher. The versatility is a plus, and he could play inside or outside in the Bills' 4-3.
No. 22 – CB Jaire Alexander, Louisville
The Bills signed veteran Vontae Davis last month to start at corner opposite 2017 first-round pick Tre'Davious White, but it's a one-year deal. This is a team desperately in need of quality depth in the secondary. Alexander was a new addition to my latest Big Board because of how he performed at the combine; he ran a 4.38 40 and his numbers in the drills ranked near the top of his class. At 5-foot-10, 196 pounds, Alexander is undersized, and he could play in the nickel.
No. 5 (via trade with Denver) – QB Josh Allen, Wyoming
I have the Broncos moving out of this spot in exchange for a package that includes the Bills' two first-rounders this year. Buffalo moves up to grab Allen, the big-armed gunslinger, and sticks him behind AJ McCarron to start the season.
