How many total points will be scored?
Our options this week are:
· Under 40
· Over 50
The Cardinals offense has averaged 29.3 points per game this season, the sixth-highest mark in the NFL. Their defense, meanwhile, has allowed an average of 22.5 points per game, which is eight-lowest.
Arizona has seen combined scores of 50-plus points in each of their past two games, a 37-34 overtime victory over Seattle and a 34-31 loss to Miami last Sunday. Five of their previous six games fell between 40 and 50 total points – although four of them came against bottom-six offenses in terms of scoring.
The Bills are averaging 26.9 points per game, placing them below Seattle and Miami but above each of the six teams the Cardinals played prior: San Francisco, Detroit, Carolina, Dallas, Washington, and the New York Jets. Here is the Cardinals total points breakdown through eight games.
· Under 40 – Zero times
· 40-50 – Five times (at SF, vs. WSH, vs. DET, at NYJ, at DAL)
· Over 50 – Three times (at CAR, vs. SEA, vs. MIA)
Five of Buffalo's nine games, meanwhile, have eclipsed 50 total points. Four of those came against teams that, like Arizona, currently rank in the top 11 in scoring: Miami, Las Vegas, Tennessee, and Seattle. The Bills' total breakdown is below:
· Under 40 – Once (at NYJ)
· 40-50 – Three times (vs. NYJ, vs. KC, vs. NE)
· Over 50 – Five times (at MIA, vs. LAR, at LVR, at TEN, vs. SEA)
