QB Mike Glennon headlines Wednesday pre-draft visitors

The activity continues at One Bills Drive, with veterans on the field for Voluntary Offseason Conditioning, and rookie draft prospects coming in the door for one-on-one meetings.

The Bills hosted four rookies in the team complex Wednesday, including North Carolina State quarterback Mike Glennon.  Also in for visits were outside linebacker Jamie Collins of Southern Mississippi, strong safety Jonathan Meeks of Clemson, and wide receiver Russell Shepard of LSU.

Glennon is regarded as one of the top arm talents in this year's draft class.  He's a pure pocket passer, standing 6-7 and weighing 225-pounds.  Glennon started all 13-games for the Wolfpack last season, and threw 31-touchdowns with 17 interceptions.  He started every game at NC State in the last two years.

Jamie Collins is an intriguing prospect coming off a very strong showing at the NFL Combine in February.  He ran a 4.64 in the forty yard dash and finished among the top five performers at his position at five different combine tests.  Collins is 6-4, 250-pounds.  He's projected as a defensive end/outside linebacker hybrid with superior athletic skills.

Safety Jonathan Meeks was Honorable Mention All –ACC at Clemson last year.  At 6-1, 209-pounds, he projects as a strong safety in the NFL.  Meeks is a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina, the same hometown as last year's Bills first round draft pick Stephon Gilmore.

LSU's Russell Shepard is an interesting case—some NFL scouts think his spot in the league may be at defensive back, after spending most of his college career as a wide receiver.  Shepard is 6-1, 196 pounds.  He was a late addition to the Senior Bowl roster in January but was not invited to the combine.  He's been clocked at 4.51 in the forty yard dash.

Today's visits make it seven draft eligible rookies visiting One Bills Drive so far.  The NFL allows teams a total of 30-such visits.
