Buffalo has a special place in the hearts of Bills head coach Sean McDermott and his wife Jamie. Give 716 Day is an initiative that celebrates the city of Buffalo and the people who work so hard to make it a special place for its residents.

The McDermotts along the Bills and Sabres Foundations will start Thursday's fundraising event with a significant donation to the Give 716 initiative which is raising money for more than 500 Western New York-based nonprofit organizations. Sean and Jamie released the following statement tonight.

"We were overwhelmed with the response to Give 716 last year, seeing how much our fans came together to support the nonprofits that do so much for our community. Today, together with the Bills and Sabres Foundations, we are pledging to match the first $50,000 in fan donations to Give716. It's a small token of our appreciation for the incredible work that these organizations do every single day."

Beginning at 7:16 pm ET the first $50,000 in donations will be matched by the McDermotts and Bills and Sabres Foundations. Up to $1,000 per individual donation will be matched.

Fans can support Give 716 Day at www.give716.org.

Other incentives for tonight's donations include ...

  • The first 3,000 donations of $71.60 or more will receive a limited edition Give 716 t-shirt
  • Starting at 8 pm ET, the first 100 donations of $716 or more will receive an autographed Josh Allen jersey
