'You definitely will get some dog' | 3 things to know about Bills NFL Draft pick Jude Bowry

The Bills started off Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft by making a small trade with the Las Vegas Raiders to move down one spot to No. 102 and pick up a seventh-round selection in the 2027 NFL Draft.

With the second pick in the fourth round, Buffalo selected offensive lineman Jude Bowry. Here are three things to know about the former Boston College lineman.

1. A Boston College prospect with elite traits

Bowry, 6-foot-5 and 314 pound lineman, played collegiately for the Eagles from 2022-25. He played in 31 games, making 23 starts during his four years. The offensive lineman has experience at right tackle (two starts) and left tackle (21 starts).

The tackle is known for his elite physical traits due to his frame and length. His hands are nearly 11 inches, and his arms are close to 34 inches. Bowry has good strength and can burst out of his stance with power.

"Definitely a lot of athleticism, a lot of range," Bowry described himself . "You definitely will get some dog and some nastiness from me."

Ahead of the 2025 season, Bowry made it onto The Athletic's Bruce Feldman’s “Freaks List” at No. 98 based on what Feldman described as peak performances in 2024.

"In 2024, Bowry allowed only two sacks in 321 dropback snaps. Bowry's athleticism has really impressed the staff," Feldman wrote. "He achieved a peak velocity of 1.18 meters per second and a peak power of 2,610 watts while performing multiple sets of five reps on back squats with 435 pounds."

Bowry's experience comes from the tackle position, but he isn't afraid to slide into a guard role if that's what the Bills need.

"I treat every day like it's another opportunity to get better. I'm ready. I'm ready to work for the Bills. I'm ready to get started," Bowry said.

He added that if there's a chance for him to compete for a role – starter or backup, tackle or guard – he'll take it, put his best foot forward and embrace the highs and the lows of the process.

2. Bowry already watches current Bills to model and learn from the pros

While he knows he won't ever be an exact replica of any tackle or guard in the league, Bowry values learning from and taking different parts of players' games who are currently in the NFL. Two Bills were in his list of players he mentioned who he watches film on: left tackle Dion Dawkins and right tackle Spencer Brown.

"I'm excited to get in the building, work with him and Brown," Bowry said. "I'm ready to work with those guys [and] get better each and every day."

He added that in order to be the best, he has to watch, learn from and be around the best. Starting his NFL career, Bowry is going to be a sponge and value what the current Buffalo linemen have to say.

"You got to watch and just take some stuff that they put into [the game]," Bowry said.

3. Every step of his journey matters

Bowry attended St. Frances Academy in high school before playing for Boston College. He was intentional about his decisions, both from an academic and football standpoint.

"I just care about the process from St. Frances to Boston College, now to the pros. I wasn't really a highly recruited guy coming out of high school," Bowry said.

"I ended up going to Boston College because … I got to be able to get my degree from a big university, a good university, [and] also achieve my dream of going to the NFL. I thought it was the best opportunity for me to maximize my life and maximize my future."

When he met with the Bills new offensive line coach Pat Myers and the whole staff in general, he appreciated the energy he felt from his private workout. Bowry said he's excited to continue working with Myers and is grateful that the Buffalo took a chance on him.

"I know that it's just the beginning," Bowry said. "I'm just going to continue to work my butt off and try to give the best I got each and every day."
