As the Buffalo Region Coach of the Week, Krenning – now in his third season on the job – helped lead his team to a 21-0 win over rival Lackawanna. Going into the shutout, both the Albion Purple Eagles and the Lackawanna Steelers were undefeated on the season. The Purple Eagles got off to a quick start when senior wide receiver Tyray White scored a touchdown on a 12-yard run. Albion went into the half nursing the one-score lead but would quickly find the end zone again on their first possession of the third quarter. Quarterback Tom Furmanski connected with Kevin Hillman on nine-yard TD to put Albion up 14-0. The Purple Eagles sealed the victory in the fourth quarter, advancing to 4-0.

It was a true team effort for Albion, but kudos to the defense for handling business and keeping Lackawanna scoreless.

Next up, Albion is scheduled to play Olean at home on Friday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. With another win, the Purple Eagles will clinch the Section VI B3 Division.

The Rochester Region Coach of the Week, Sabatino ushered his squad to a big 28-16 win over the East Rochester/Gananda Bombers this past weekend. It was only a five-point game at the half, with the Blue Devils leading 7-2. However, things got interesting in the third quarter when Attica made a huge play on special teams. Blocking a punt that senior Jake Gross then scooped up and ran 15 yards for the score, Attica added to the deficit. East Rochester kept fighting and put up two touchdowns of their own in the third, taking a 16-14 lead. In the end, it was Attica that took it home. Scoring twice in the game's final quarter – once on a Jeremiah Donohue run and another on a 50-yard rush by Zach Strzelec – the Blue Devils collected their fourth win.

Strzelec paved the way on offense, finishing the contest with 135 yards and a TD on 16 carries. On defense, Clayton Compton compiled 11 tackles – one for lost yardage.

Attica will face 2-2 Dansville on the road on Friday, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
