Fresh off a bye week, the Buffalo Bills will open the 21-day practice window for wide receiver Tyrell Shavers who has missed the first six games of the season with a torn ACL.

Currently on injured reserve, Buffalo will have 21 days to make a decision on whether it feels Shavers is ready to join the active roster. Bills head coach Joe Brady said Shavers has been "outstanding" in the way he's attacked the rehab process.

"You talk about a guy like Tyrell Shavers — he is what you want to build your team around, the personality, the mindset," Brady said.

Shavers was seen at Wednesday's practice in a normal practice jersey going full speed through individual drills and catching passes from the quarterbacks.

The Bills WR tore his ACL during the first half of last season's Wild Card game at the Jacksonville Jaguars but managed to finish the game. He was diagnosed with the injury following the game and was placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

The 6-foot-4, 211-pound wide receiver was a 2023 undrafted free agent but earned a spot on Buffalo's active 53-man roster in 2025. Shavers had 15 catches for 245 yards and a touchdown last year.

"[Shavers] doesn't care about anything besides us doing whatever he can do to help us win. And I'm excited for him. It's been a long time coming to get to go play football again," Brady said.

WR DJ Moore, DL Ed Oliver spotted at Bills practice

After missing games against the Rams and Raiders, Bills wide receiver DJ Moore (shoulder) and defensive lineman Ed Oliver (knee) were both seen at practice Wednesday during the open media viewing portion.

Going into Week 6 against the Raiders, Moore and Oliver missed practices on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by a limited participation Friday. Both players were initially listed as questionable for Week 6 but ultimately ruled inactive on game day.

Today, both players returned to practice ahead of Week 8. Moore was in a red non-contact jersey but went through individual drills and caught passes from Josh Allen.

"It was tough him not playing in those games," Brady said. "But obviously we know the importance that he brings to our football team to our offense, the toughness, the play-making ability. It'll be nice to get him back on the football field today and seeing how that kind of goes as we progress."

Brady added that sitting Moore for Weeks 5 and 6 was "frustrating for him" but it was the "best thing to do" for Moore's longterm health the rest of the season.

Oliver was in a normal team practice jersey and went through individual drills with the defensive linemen.

"When we put together the vision for this defense, it was around Ed. I'm so excited when he gets that opportunity to get back out on the football field — for him to be able to play football," Brady shared prior to Wednesday's practice. "He'll be out there today and let's just continue to see what it kind of looks like."
