The Buffalo Bills and Greatbatch Incorporated teamed up during the 2010 football season with the American Heart Association to "Sack Heart Disease."  Greatbatch generously donated to the American Heart Association for each sack the Bills recorded at home, and fans were also encouraged to donate online.

The program wrapped up on December 21, 2010 with a check presentation held at Greatbatch's Global Headquarters & Holmes R&D Center.

A check for $15,000 was presented to Cronan Long, Executive Director at the American Heart Association.  Thomas J. Hook, CEO of Greatbatch Incorporated and Buffalo Bills defensive end Dwan Edwards presented the check together.

"The Bills and Greatbatch share a partnership where we both strongly support the American Heart Association," said Bruce Popko, Bills senior vice president of business development. "Through the Sack Heart Disease program, the Bills and Greatbatch created a unique football-driven heart disease awareness campaign that helped increase donations to the American Heart Association."

"We're very grateful and proud of our continued partnership with both the Buffalo Bills organization and Greatbatch, who both support our mission of building healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke," said Cronan Long, American Heart Association executive director.

The American Heart Association is the nation's oldest and largest voluntary health organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Their mission is to build healthier lives by preventing, treating and defeating these diseases – America's No. 1 and No. 3 killers.
