Buffalo Bills running back James Cook III is the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for September after recording 490 total scrimmage yards and five touchdowns through the first four games of the 2025 season.

Cook ranks second in the NFL in rushing yards (401) on 75 carries and has added 12 catches for 89 yards. As a team, the Bills lead the NFL in rushing yards during their 4-0 start to the season.

Cook became the sixth player in the Super Bowl era with at least 100 scrimmage yards and a rushing touchdown in each of his team's first four games of a season. Cook is the first Bill to surpass 100+ scrimmage yards in the team's first four games since O.J. Simpson in 1975.

In his fourth season, Cook has taken his game to a new level, seeing a 61% snap share out of the backfield through four games. During the team's Week 4 win, Cook set a franchise record with his eighth consecutive game with a rushing touchdown.

In Week 2 against the Jets, Cook recorded his fifth career 40+ yard touchdown run in the first half. Since entering the league in 2022, Cook's five 40+ yard TD runs lead the NFL.
