We're officially less than a month away from the start of the NFL regular season and the Buffalo Bills are projected to be among the best teams in the league this year.
While a lot of the praise is directed at quarterback Josh Allen — and rightly so — the foundation for the Bills' success can also be attributed to the front office and coaching staff. Today, we're looking at where the Bills' coaching staff ranks in the league among national media perspectives.
Bleacher Report | Bills have second-best coaching staff
"McDermott has now been the head coach in Buffalo for six years. They've posted a winning record in five of those years with an AFC Championship Game appearance and came about 13 seconds away from getting back there this year.
The coaching staff has benefitted from Josh Allen, but they also deserve credit for his progression since coming to the NFL. He didn't start off in the elite tier of quarterbacks, but thanks to his personal improvement and the way he's utilized, he has reached that status._
Losing Brian Daboll hurts. He was the 2020 AP Assistant Coach of the Year. However, Ken Dorsey was the perfect candidate to replace him and brings continuity to the staff. Dorsey has been the quarterback coach since 2019 and has a diverse background as a player, coach and scout, which includes stops in the Canadian Football League, the high school ranks and college._
On defense, Leslie Frazier gives the Bills a defensive coordinator with head coaching experience. They have finished in the top three of points and yards allowed under his leadership._

CBS Sports | McDermott had 'head of the pack' qualities as HC
"If anyone has the makings of the next Andy Reid, just in terms of steady-handedness year in and year out, it might be McDermott, one of his top disciples. More than just overseeing Josh Allen's growing stardom at QB, and Buffalo's aggressive offensive approach, he's kept his signature unit, the Bills defense, hungry in key games. Crazy things happen, but it feels like a matter of when, not if, McDermott will be contending for a Lombardi Trophy thanks to the well-rounded roster he shepherds." — via Cody Benjamin
Sporting News | McDermott is a top 10 NFL coach
"McDermott is leading the newest AFC powerhouse and current Super Bowl favorite in Buffalo. His defensive-minded influence is strong at every level flanked by Leslie Frazier, but it's been most impressive how he is fine with the Bills being an offensive-forward team to unleash the talents of Josh Allen." — via Vinnie Iyer
