1 - Depth of defensive tackles to be testedAll-Pro DT Marcell Dareus will not suit up for the Bills today. The injury he sustained to his ankle last week against the Carolina Panthers was enough to keep the interior defender sidelined this week against the Denver Broncos. 
Dareus only saw 17 snaps last Sunday due to that injury he suffered in the game. He'll officially see zero snaps against the Broncos, and that will provide a big test for the Bills defensive tackles. This week Buffalo made some moves in the event Dareus wouldn't be ready to go.
"I feel good about it. We were able to bring back Deandre Coleman, [over] the last couple of days here. Deandre's a good steady player for us that's going to do his job, very dependable. When you add that to Kyle [Williams], who's there, Cedric Thornton, Adolphus Washington, we've got some guys that we can roll in there," Sean McDermott said.
A name you should see on the field more Sunday will be Cedric Thornton. He came to the Bills after spending last season with the Dallas Cowboys. Thornton signed as a free agent on Sep. 5, 2017.
"Well number one, he's come in and endeared himself to his teammates, in the way that he's approached himself. With his approach in the meeting room, in the weight room and then on the field. He's 100 miles an hour all the time, plays with a flat back, plays with good leverage. He's picked up the system extremely fast, credit to him. He's done a good job so far, and I think he's looking forward to more and more opportunities, which is what happens when you play and bust your tail," McDermott said.
The Bills defense will have some less familiar faces lining up against the Broncos, they'll look to halt that prolific offense that put up 42 points a week ago.

2 - Rookie receiver ready for Denver**
Last Sunday in Carolina the Bills almost executed a perfect two-minute offense to close out the game. Second-round pick, Zay Jones, made two catches for 18 yards on the final drive. He almost made a third, but wasn't able to pull it in.
The rookie only needed one day to regroup after a tough moment in his young NFL career.
"Twenty-four hours. I think if I would have made a spectacular catch, the game-winning touchdown, I would have only dwelled on it for 24 hours. I think everyone's seeing I'm back to myself and having fun again, I'm enjoying football again. It sucks at what happened, it happened, it's over and I'm learning from it, I'm growing, I'm developing. I'm a rookie, but, no excuses, you have to keep moving forward," Jones said.
For a rookie, the mindset of Jones is well beyond his years. The Panthers game is all of a memory now, and he knows what they need to improve on.
"We need to do better and we know that as an offense moving forward. Cleaning up a lot of things," Jones said.
A tough Denver Broncos defense won't make it easy for the Bills. They'll build off this week's preparation in hopes to avoid another touchdown-less game.
3 - Brown wants defense to improve from last week
It was a flawless defensive performance last Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. The Bills only allowed nine points; it's even more remarkable that the defense held the Panthers to 0-for-3 on red zone opportunities. More importantly, the stout effort wasn't enough, and the Bills fell to 1-1.
"We have to be the best defense on the field each and every week. We weren't that. Everyone says 'Oh we gave up nine points,' but that is more than what our offense scored. We have to find ways to get less points, to find ways to shut them out. We could have had times to get turnovers and we didn't, so we have to find a way to get the offense the ball on the other side of the field," Preston Brown said.
The Bills traveled to Carolina last week and faced a dynamic defense. With the Denver Broncos coming to Buffalo, things aren't going to get any easier for the offense.
"It is always great competing against other great defenses. You want to be in that realm so you can see that great defense coming in, back to back weeks basically. We have to find ways to be the better defense, and that hopefully will lead to a win," Brown said.
The Broncos may have put up an absurd amount of points last Sunday, but all things indicate this Sunday could be a low-scoring affair.
