Harvest Festival to benefit Hospice Buffalo

Bill and Lynn Markel of Orchard Park, NY, are chairs of the 9th Annual Harvest Festival, a Celebration of Hospice, Friends and Family, presented by the Buffalo Bills. Bill is a Wealth Management Advisor, first vice president with the Markel Group at Merrill Lynch and Lynn has served as a Hospice Buffalo volunteer for five years.

The Harvest Festival will be held on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at the Statler Towers in Buffalo, NY. The unique gala will feature a sit down gourmet dinner with unique wines from Maison Rivière; a French vineyard owned by brothers Jean-Pierre and Philipe Rivière.

The popular event also includes an elaborate wine tasting, one-of-a-kind live auction and dessert bar.  Tickets are $200 each or corporate tables of ten for $2,800. The Harvest Festival is sponsored by HSBC, Merrill Lynch, and M&T Bank.

This year's event also features a Grand Prize Drawing of $10,000 Cash. The winner does not need to be present to win. The Harvest Festival will benefit the many programs and services of Hospice Buffalo, one of the nation's largest hospice and palliative care programs.  More than 550 patients are cared for daily by Hospice Buffalo and its affiliate agencies, the Hospice Buffalo House at Mitchell Campus, St. John Baptist/Hospice Buffalo House, Home Care Buffalo/Essential Care for Children, Caring Hearts Home Care, and the Life Transitions Center.
