Owens makes the call

As part of the Buffalo Bills and Verizon Wireless efforts to promote Bills text alerts to fans, wide receiver Terrell Owens made a personal cell phone call to contest winner Ann Elder, formerly of Buffalo and now from Pittsburgh, PA, on November 10th.

Owens made the call from the Verizon Wireless retail store at McKinley Parkway in Hamburg where he also took pictures, signed autographs and met nearly 400 fans (view photo gallery).

"Having T.O. at our store was a great way to reach out to Bills fans and show off some of our exciting new devices," said Rich Fay, Verizon Wireless store manager.

Elder signed up for the Bills text alerts and was randomly chosen to receive the call from Owens.  They spoke for about ten minutes regarding several different topics including their favorite Buffalo restaurants and steak houses.

Fans are still eligible to win great prizes by signing up for Bills text alerts.  To sign up for Bills text alerts, text BILLS to 64621.
