RB Chris Ivory, TE Charles Clay among Bills inactives

He was questionable coming into the game with a shoulder injury that has persisted for a few weeks now. The Bills have decided to make RB Chris Ivory inactive for today's game against New England.

Though Ivory was able to practice in a limited capacity this week, head coach Sean McDermott hinted that the running back's shoulder injury was unlikely to be 100 percent for the remainder of the season.

"He's worked to get back healthy. It probably won't totally heal up until we get to the offseason, but he's working," said McDermott on Thursday.

With Ivory not 100 percent healthy, and a desire to get a longer look at undrafted rookie Keith Ford, who made his NFL debut last week, the move is understandable.

Ford will serve as LeSean McCoy's complement, as the Bills feature back returns to the lineup against a New England run defense that has given up 7.5 yards per carry to their opponents over the last three games.

McCoy was actually a more effective playmaker in the first meeting with the Patriots as a receiver, where he had six receptions for 82 yards.

McCoy and Ford will be the only two backs active for Buffalo today along with FB Pat DiMarco.

TE Charles Clay is a healthy scratch. The tight end's play has been uneven since his return from a hamstring injury.
