Tyrel Dodson partnered with Gabe's Collision this week to host four single mothers at Target, providing them with $500 gift cards to shop for Christmas presents.
"Shoutout to Gabe's Collision, we partnered for the whole event and they have a lot of their employees here," Dodson said, sharing that he was ecstatic to get to spend time shopping with the families.
For the Bills starting linebacker, the event hit particularly close to home.
"I don't come from much and my mom was always trying to work three jobs around the holidays just to get me my PS5 that I wanted, my Mongoose that I wanted … my mom did everything that she could to provide," Dodson said. "So, this is something big I've always wanted to do. … I get emotional even thinking about it."
Dodson was joined by teammates Tyler Matakevich, Terrel Bernard and Dorian Williams. For Monet Walker-Finch, who was shopping for her daughter and son, getting a chance to meet a few Bills and save money for a few other bills was a dream come true.
"The holidays are a struggle and my heart exploded when I heard I was given the opportunity to do this," Walker-Finch said. "For me to get to hang out and have a conversation with [Bills players], I'm excited. It's not a fanbase, it's a family."
