WNY Heroes program announced

The Buffalo Bills have introduced the Western New York (WNY) Heroes program in partnership with Time Warner Cable and the United Way. Time Warner Cable and the United Way are looking for Western New York Heroes - shining examples of innovation, commitment to community, dedication and outstanding volunteerism.

The program will honor local, unsung and selfless individuals who have gone beyond the norm to work for WNY. Time Warner Cable and the United Way are looking for heroes who have made a positive difference in WNY in the following categories:

     1.  Active Artist - furthering and enriching the arts or artists.

     2.  Community Fixer - creating innovative solutions for problems/concerns in our area.

     3.  Education Leader - fostering change and improvement in education for all ages.

     4.  Minor Miracle Worker - tremendous creativity, service or leadership by a youth under 18.

     5.  Senior Star - outstanding service, volunteerism or community leadership by a senior citizen.

To nominiate your friend, co-worker, colleague or mentor, simply fill out the online nomination form on the WNY Heroes Awards website page at www.timewarnercable.com/wny/about/community/wnyheroes.html.

The completed nomination form may also be printed and mailed or faxed to:

The nomination of the inspiring and unique person must be submitted by Wednesday, July 1, 2009.
