What Bills fans need to know about NFL Free Agency 2024

DSC05687

The legal contract negotiating window for NFL clubs to contact prospective free agent players is now open (March 11 at Noon). This means the Bills are able to negotiate contracts with free agents, though those deals can not be made official until the start of free agency until March 13 at 4 p.m.

This Free Agency Tracker will be updated throughout the offseason as Buffalo signs new players for the 2024 season.

Here's what Bills fans need to know about free agency.

What's the NFL Salary Cap for 2024?

The salary cap for all NFL teams is $255,400,000 per club for the 2024 season. During the NFL Combine, Bills GM Brandon Beane said that number is higher than he expected, which is a good thing for Buffalo.

"Every dollar you can get helps you," Beane said. "Whether it's extensions, whether it's modifying their contract, whether it's, in this case, restructuring – which is really just moving some money down. … We were conservatively planning for a number in the 40's so to get to $255 (million), I was smiling."
