Bills set to drop city-inspired alternate uniform this season

The Buffalo Bills are adding another alternate jersey to their rotation for the 2022 season!

While many fans were calling for the return of the red helmets that were made famous by the Bills teams of the 90s, the team went in a totally different direction. The brand-new uniforms are inspired by one of the biggest staples of Buffalo – the chicken wing.

The uniform is all black, with orange numbers and a gradient stripe down the side. With the NFL rescinding the one-helmet rule in 2021, this uniform comes with an entirely new helmet. The black helmet with a red stripe down the middle and yellow facemask features the Bills' logo made completely out of wings, and ranch, of course.

This is the first time in franchise history that the Bills will wear a black alternate jersey and the first time that new colors will be added to the established team colors of red, white, and blue.

The new alternate jerseys have already gotten some positive comments around One Bills Drive.

"Orange is my favorite color," Bills Insider Chris Brown said. "So, to see it in the jersey, I'm all for this. And nothing says spicy like chicken wing orange."

"I know the red helmet was the fan favorite, but I know Bills Mafia will like these new alternates after seeing them." Bills' Wall of Famer Steve Tasker added. "And who doesn't love a good chicken wing logo, it's a win-win."

This is the first time since the red Color Rush jerseys in 2015 that the team has unveiled an alternate jersey.
