Buffalo is adding to its defensive backs unit. The Bills signed safety Tre Herndon on Tuesday morning.

Herndon most recently played for the Saints in 2024 and the Jaguars from 2018-23. The safety has played in 84 games and started in 34 over his seven years in the league. During that time, Herndon racked up three interceptions, 32 passes defensed and 243 total tackles. Herdon also had stints with the Giants and Colts.

He was an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt in 2018. Herndon is from Detroit, Mich. To make room for this move, the Bills released tight end Matt Sokol.
