The Bills extended an important special teamer on Saturday afternoon. Linebacker Joe Andreessen, known by Bills fans as 'Buffalo Joe', signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the Bills through 2028.
Over his three years with the Bills, Andreessen has played in 33 games and made three starts. He's racked up 34 tackles and three tackles for loss in those games. He's also logged 32 special teams tackles.
In 2025, the LB led the Bills with 21 special teams tackles and tied for fourth most in the league. Andreessen's recorded five special teams tackles to start the 2026 season, which ties for fifth most in the NFL.
Andreessen originally joined the Bills in 2024 after a standout tryout during rookie minicamp.
The extension is super meaningful to Andreessen because he was born and raised in Western New York. 'Buffalo Joe' attended Lancaster High School and played one year of collegiate football at the University of Buffalo.
