Defensive End Chris Kelsay - 8/11

DEFENSIVE END CHRIS KELSAY

PM Practice – August 11, 2008

Opening statement:

On Saturday, we realized that there was still a lot of improvement to be made. We are still in training camp, so we're still working hard. We're looking forward to this game in Toronto against the Steelers, but we're still all business: meetings, practice, lifting, just getting ourselves in the best shape, both mentally and physically, that we possibly can before the season kicks off.

On how he learns from game tape even after only playing for a few series:

A lot of it is just watching the guys underneath you and who play behind you. We might get a dozen, 15 snaps is all, so a lot of the film we were watching, especially today, was of some of the younger guys. But you can still learn from that. You can pick up things that the offense is doing, some of the blocks that you may be getting. You need to make the most out of every opportunity and a lot of that opportunity is watching other people play.

On if playing in Toronto now will help them in the regular season:

I think so. Anytime that you can play in a place, it's no different than the AFC East, playing down in Miami a lot, playing in New England, playing against the New York Jets, you get accustomed to those places, and I'm sure that this will be the same.

On if the team is excited to be playing in Toronto:

I think we're excited about it. We have a lot of fans above the border and it's good to bring them this game and it's exciting for us, because it is in Canada, you don't see that happen. So the Bills have this kind of approach to it, and through the extended schedule with them, so to speak, it's good for the organization, and it brings a little excitement during training camp.
