Falcons QB Joey Harrington

Falcons Quarterback Joey Harrington

August 17, 2007

On if the Falcon's offense improved this week:

"It took us a couple drives last week to get things rolling.  And we came out and moved the ball right down the field this week.  The thing we need to work on right now is getting that edge, the ability to finish.  Through the first two preseason games, we'd move the ball as a first offense pretty well and we haven't been able to quite finish off those.  Whether it was a couple third downs early last game or it was the goal line situation this week, we need to be able to finish off drives."

On D.J. Shockley and his injury:

"Obviously he was distraught.  It's not anything you ever like to have happen and we're all pulling for him in his recovery.  From the looks of things, it may be a little while before he's able to get playing again."

On if there was any added pressure put on him before the game:

"I've said this from the beginning, there's no added pressure on my part because I'm not trying to fill anybody's shoes.  I'm not trying to be Mike (Vick).  I'm trying to be the best me that I can be and I feel really good about that right now."

On how he thinks the team is handling distractions concerning teammate Michael Vick:

"I think we've dealt extremely well with the distractions.  I think we dealt extremely well with it from day one.  Like I said, I'm impressed with how this team and this organization has handled things.  They've been very open, very honest and very up front.  I think that takes the elephant out of the room.  It enables people to say what they need to say, hear what they need to hear and move on.  Obviously we wish Mike well as a teammate but we have a job to do here right now."
