For the third time in 2025 and 18th time in his career, quarterback Josh Allen was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. Allen also received the award in Week 1 against Baltimore and Week 11 against Tampa Bay.
In Week 14 against the Bengals, Allen had a 78.57 completion percentage on 22-of-28 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns. He was the second-leading rusher of the afternoon as well, scrambling nine times for 78 yards and one touchdown.
In the second quarter, down 11 points, Allen was in a fourth-and-four scenario from the Cincinnati 11-yard-line. Not giving up, he scanned for options, buying time away from the defense. As wide receiver Khalil Shakir backed into the end zone, Allen threw a superhero-esque pass, connecting with Shakir for the touchdown. Head coach Sean McDermott smiled in agreement on Monday, saying "audacity" was a great word to describe the play.
A successful two-point conversion to tight end Dawson Knox put Buffalo back within three of the Bengals.
In the fourth quarter, Allen drove his offense down the field quickly. Cincinnati scored on its previous drive and made it a two-possession game once again. Allen scrubbed just 1:11 off the play clock to answer.
After three completions, each for a first down and then some, and an incomplete pass to Kincaid, Allen saw his opportunity to take the ball into the end zone himself. The 40-yard rushing score set a regular season record for longest rushing touchdown in Bills history.
Capitalizing on the defense's second interception on Sunday, Allen connected with tight end Jackson Hawes, extending Buffalo's newfound lead of the afternoon. Closing the game on his own terms, Allen scrambled on third-and-15 with 1:54 remaining on the clock. The successful first down allowed the offense to run out the rest of the clock and log another Bills win.
