News and notes from Monday's media availability with head coach Sean McDermott, offensive coordinator Joe Brady and defensive coordinator Bobby Babich.

Josh Allen and Christian Benford draw praise from coaching staff

Buffalo's thrilling 39-34 win over Cincinnati included superstar performances from quarterback Josh Allen and CB Christian Benford.

In the second half, Allen completed 13 of 15 (87%) passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. He added 79 rushing yards and a touchdown as well, helping the Bills comeback from two separate double-digit deficits, including down 28-18 with under eight minutes remaining.

"He's just got this 'it' factor that is hard to question and hard to defend. So it's just a special quality that not a lot of people have, not a lot of players, not a lot of performers have," head coach Sean McDermott said.

OC Joe Brady praised Allen and the entire offensive operation for bearing down and sticking together throughout the game.

"When you have Josh Allen at quarterback, as long as there's time on the clock, you're going to be able to score points. The game's not over," Brady said.

One week after rushing 51 times for a season-high 249 yards in Pittsburgh, the Bills were explosive in both facets of the game against another AFC North team. Buffalo netted six explosive gains of 15+ yards in the passing game and five in the run game.

"We want to be able to show that we can win different ways and different styles of games," Brady said. "Finding ways to win football games is the most important thing right now, and showing that we can do it in different ways I think is equally as important."

Cornerback Christian Benford recorded a takeaway and a defensive touchdown for the second consecutive games, turning the tide in favor of the Bills with his 63-yard interception return for a touchdown to give Buffalo a 32-28 lead with just over five minutes remaining.

Benford is the only player in the league this season with two INTs, two sacks and two defensive touchdowns.

"He's just a pro, and he wants to be really good. He works at it, that's just who 'CB' is," DC Bobby Babich shared. "If you were to tell me (before the season) he's gonna have a couple defensive touchdowns, it wouldn't shock me."

Injury updates as Week 15 prep begins

Buffalo didn't have any new injuries to report coming out of Sunday's game, with McDermott citing safety Cole Bishop is "okay" after leaving the game due to cramping.

DE Joey Bosa (hamstring), LB Terrel Bernard (elbow), WR Joshua Palmer (ankle) and RT Spencer Brown (shoulder) are all "improving" after missing Week 14.

After having the injury being labeled as week-to-week, Bosa could return in Week 15 against New England but nothing firm has been established.

"I believe there is (a chance)," McDermott said of Bosa's availability. "You gotta understand — the sight unseen for me is the medical team saying we'll just take it one day at a time. So I'm kind of waiting on them each day and seeing how it goes."

The coaching staff anticipates Bosa will participate in Wednesday's walk-through.

TE Dalton Kincaid (hamstring/knee) returned to the lineup after missing the last three games and provided an immediate impact with four catches for 41 yards and a touchdown. He played 22 snaps and appears to have made it out of the game without re-injuring himself. Kincaid was listed as questionable coming into Week 14.

"From what I could tell in talking with Nate Breske our trainer, no concern about Dalton moving forward. Coming off that game, he was in a good space last night," McDermott said.

What to expect from Darnell Savage

The Bills claimed safety Darnell Savage off waivers prior to Week 14. McDermott confirmed the 28-year-old has reported to Buffalo and the 28-year-old joins the active roster this week.

"Had a conversation with him this morning. He's a guy that we've had our eye on," McDermott said.

At this time of year, any addition made to the roster is done so with the goal of helping the team win games. What Savage's role will be is still being fine-tuned.

"Learning is going to take some time. Maybe he plays some safety, maybe plays some nickel, maybe some special teams," McDermott said.
