National analysts make predictions for the Buffalo Bills in 2026

WTS9.10.26

The Bills are kicking off their 2026 campaign on Sunday against the Houston Texans, looking to get off to a hot start to the inaugural season at Highmark Stadium.

Here is what some national analysts are predicting for the team ahead of the new year:

"While Joe Brady moves from offensive coordinator to head coach, and Jim Leonhard takes over as defensive coordinator, expectations remain sky-high for the Bills mainly due to franchise quarterback Josh Allen." - Ventre

"Buffalo fans were buzzing, believing that this (finally!) could be the year that Josh Allen leads the Bills to the Super Bowl. And the blowout divisional-round win over the Colts did nothing to quell the frenzy. But the Bills' potent offense suddenly fell quiet when it was needed the most… The season showed that Buffalo could be successful under first-year coach Joe Brady. But Brady suffered the same fate as his predecessor Sean McDermott, falling short of that elusive Super Bowl." - Walder

"The Bills may no longer be the landlords of the AFC East with the Patriots back on the scene, but with the 14th-best strength of schedule, there's no reason they won't sail through the regular season with Super Bowl-or-bust hopes." - Treppedi

"Buffalo, it's their time, folks. The Buffalo Bills, they have made the playoffs in seven straight seasons. They are one of four teams in NFL history to win a playoff game in six straight seasons. But they just have not been able to get that Super Bowl. 73 regular-season wins from 2020-25. The most by any team over a six-season span without a Super Bowl appearance in National Football League history. I think they're due. I think they beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl." - Fanta

"Bills over Cowboys. Three decades after Troy Aikman led Dallas to three Super Bowl titles in four years -- with two of those triumphs coming at Buffalo's expense -- the Cowboys legend is on the call for ABC/ESPN to watch Josh Allen bedevil the 'Boys and give the Bills their first Lombardi Trophy." - Filice

"Bills over Rams. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. I picked Bills over Rams in this exercise last year, and I'm back for Super Bowl LXI. The Rams are the league's best team, but it's (finally) Josh Allen's time." - Okada

"Bills over Rams. Josh Allen and company finally get over the hump, locking in under first-year head coach Joe Brady in their first season at new Highmark Stadium." - Smith

"Josh Allen gets over the top and gets his Super Bowl… What is stopping the Bills offense? We love the offensive line, we love the quarterback, we love the running back, we really like the tight end and they added a No. 1 receiver… It's not like it's a new system, or a new playcaller, so there's continuity in the system. What happens for a team that's won 10 or more games seven years in a row, where they're not going to score a ton of points this year?" - Parkins

"Buffalo, the Super Bowl window is still open as long as the guy under center is the guy under center. You're talking about one of, if not the best player in the NFL, in Josh Allen. You talk about DJ Moore coming over to bolster that receiving core, because Josh has done it with less, really, at the receiver position than many quarterbacks… The Bills, in a very, very competitive AFC, are one of the top three or four teams that will be contenders the entire season. This could finally be the year that the Bills punch their ticket back to the big one, in Super Bowl LXI."

"Buffalo fell just short of beating Denver in the AFC Championship Game, setting up New England well to get to Super Bowl 60. The Bills will learn well from losing that game and the division, with some overall needed rejuvenation with promoted offensive-minded coach Joe Brady." - Iyer

"This is going to happen. This is going to be the year. The Buffalo Bills are winning the Super Bowl, over the Rams, in LA, in SoFi… The script, in Hollywood, is Josh Allen getting over the hump, and Josh Allen delivering the amazing Bills fans, Bills Mafia, their first-ever Super Bowl. It's Josh Allen's time to shine. Josh Allen is the best player, best quarterback, in the NFL, and he needs to be recognized as that guy. And I think that the Bills offseason was so damn amazing, and so damn calculated."

"This team's star player will show why he's one of the best players in the game… Buffalo, you will win your first-ever championship. And your star player, Joshua Patrick Allen, will be the Super Bowl MVP. Because Buffalo, you are my 2026 Super Bowl champs. Are you ready? I'm ready. Let's go."
